Basics Of Mindfulness Meditation: Bring Presence, Calm and Balance into Your Daily Life
May 26, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, repeating until June 9, 2020
How many balls are you juggling? Maybe too many to count. These activities, relationships and responsibilities can pull you in many directions, leaving you off balance and exhausted.
It seems odd that a 6th century monk who started his spiritual journey living in a cave in Subito, Italy might show us the way through our 21st century juggling acts. But that is, in fact, what many have found and what we will explore in this gathering.

Three aspects of Benedict’s Rule can bring greater focus, balance and wholeness in our lives:
- An evolving spirit of humility that opens us to listening, learning and growing while also opening our hearts and souls to receive the gifts and guidance that God and our lives are offering us.
- Prayer as a way to give voice to the deepest experiences of our lives while waiting in silence for what love reveals to us. Prayer as both a turning inward and a radical turning outward to the world.
- Work as a spiritual practice that contributes to the life of the community, expresses who we are and provides the challenges that can lead to real growth.
Whether we are living singly or in a community, we know that we will fall away from that which is most important to us. The Rule of Benedict encourages us to begin again, reminding us that we are always loved beyond our wildest imagination. It is in that love that we can begin again. Join us in exploring the ideas and practices of the Benedictine Way.
